Or, if you are in the Toronto area in November, come see her sing in the opera The Rat Laughed.

Melanie also discusses her involvement in this bollywood music video.

Deborah’s yarn this week comes from Lanas La Oveja Negra.Deborah and her yarn

Deborah is still knitting the afghan for her soon-to-be-married friend.
You can find it in the book Manos del Uruguay – Shadows & Reflections – Throws.
She has also made a little progress on her Sophisticated-Rustic Jacket.

Melanie, of all people, got paid to knit.  And she complained about it afterwards.  Life is completely unfair.

Deborah discusses a new way to use an old expression, and shares a few quotations that caught her fancy.

Boogie down to:

Beethoven – Trio in C for Flute, Piano and Bassoon – Allegro
Sophie Madeleine – Sweater Song
Love, Sage – Knit you a Jumper
Bill Oddie – The Knitting Song
Handel – L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed it Moderato
Andy McKee – Ouray (from the Podsafe Music Network)
Great Big Sea – Ordinary Day
Fraggle Rock – Doozer Knitting Song

    Hi Savvy Girls,
I’m greatly enjoying your podcast. Here’s a request: how about a field trip to the Lion Brand yarn store in NYC? I don’t live in that area any more so have only seen the online photos — I’d love to know what the store is like. The yarn is a staple at big box stores in the Midwest where I live, but the Lion Web site and their catalog are much more sophisticated than I might have expected. So what’s the store like? How does it compare to other Manhattan yarn shops? Field trip, field trip!
    Thanks much — K
